The Thomas Alva Edison Memorial Tower was built in Edison, New Jersey in his memory. This towering 118-foot-high structure includes his inventions, such as the first light bulb. It is located in the laboratory where he worked on his first light bulb made of incandescent, it is one of the most well-known landmarks of New Jersey.
The tower was constructed in 1937 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The towers top houses the Py-rex globe-shaped lightbulb which measures 14 feet in height, and has been tuned to look similar to the original bulb.

Cypress Brewing Company is a local brewery located in central New Jersey. The flagship location is on Nixon Lane in Edison. There are several craft beer options available as well as some produced using local ingredients. The tasting room is that is equipped with a few high tops, a few tables and a bar. They also offer takeout and delivery.
Cypress is not a novice to the game of beer as is evident by their collaborations with Icarus Brewing in Lakewood, NJ, and Bolero Snort in Carlstadt, NJ. Since its founding, the brewery has made an impact on the local brewing scene and was called one of the most promising new breweries in New Jersey.
The Rutgers Ecological Reserve is a 316-acre forest area in the vicinity of Edison, New Jersey. It was created to preserve the natural ecological characteristics of the property as well as serve as an educational resource for both the university community and the communities surrounding.
Rutgers Go Outdoors offers snowshoeing in the Preserve for those looking to be outdoors in winter. You can also enjoy a guided tour of the museum which contains more than 120 objects.
